SUSTENTAR PROGRAM

FULL ATTENTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Sustentar Program, created and executed by Caramuru, guides and monitors the processes of raw material suppliers to promote understanding and the application of sustainable principles in rural activities by providing constant training and sharing the best management practices. It also provides monitoring so that the standards and legislation in effect are complied with.

This is beneficial to rural producers, who can reduce costs and better control inputs, in addition to providing for the generation of new business. Regarding the environment, it benefits soil and water. It also benefits society by guaranteeing that every Caramuru product has sustainable origin and production.

The Sustentar methodology complies with the guidelines of the Trade For Sustainable Development (T4SD), the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC), and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its traceability process proves that all Caramuru products are originated according to the best global practices, ensuring sustainability in all stages of the production chain.

Sustentar uses artificial intelligence and geospace technology, monitoring 100% of its raw material supplier chain by using a protocol with several socio-environmental criteria appropriate to the MRV System (Measurable, Reportable, and Verifiable).

More than a program, Sustentar is Caramuru Alimentos’ commitment to the sustainable development of the communities in the regions where it operates not only during the harvest period but throughout the entire year.

Sustentar has the participation of around  400 direct suppliers in an area of over 340 thousand hectares in the States of Goiás and Mato Grosso
